Swing

Here we are sharing the swing! (Cuddles on the left and Snuggles on the right) We are still small enough that we can share it and sleep for a nap or even part of a night. We are just over 5 weeks and we know almost everything we need to know. Amazing, isn't it! From hatching from a jelly bean size egg to, although not fully grown yet, but being able to fly.

Mommy and Daddy had to get out of the cage for a break and explore for awhile!

Twins?

Twins? Almost!

For some reason I still have that cartoon parrot look even at 5 weeks old! Wasn't I supposed to grow out of that already by now?

Family

Although we have filled in and look like full grown birds we really are not fully grown yet and are still growing!

We spend our days sitting with one of the family and watching the others.
Or preening our own feathers or one of the others.

At some point in the day all four of us end up on one perch for a little while.

Swing

Oh this swing is fun! So relaxing! I wondered what it would be like.

Flying

Getting a drink of water. Today was a day of new experiences! I flew from the cage to a table maybe 5 or 6 feet away! Also I am getting better at flying up to a perch from one below. Smile!

Good Morning!

Making my way up to the higher perch I settled in. It is early morning and bright but all is quiet yet. Not a sound is heard, not even a twitter! All are sleeping!

Mommy is on the swing and looks like she is still sleeping!

I wonder if the cover going to come off soon. I am awake now!

Sitting high!

Some pictures of the four of us on the higher perches. Where to sit and how many of us on one perch is a tough question when two of us are still learning how to get down the best way possible! Coming up is a little easier when climbing up the side of the cage. We are still learning how to fly.

We are enjoying being up further and learning to sleep standing. Mommy is not sure what to do or where to sit so watches on for a little while.

Eating

Who says one has to sit on the perch to get the seed to eat.

Or to have sit on the perch to get a drink of water!

But I have to admit that snuggling and cuddling together like this to eat sure makes a difference in eating!

Surprise

I made it! Here I (Snuggles) was sitting on a perch at the top of the cage before the cover was even off this morning! Wow! One can see for so far once the cover is off!

Four weeks old

Four weeks ago today on April 24th Snuggles hatched, one of three eggs that had been laid near the beginning of April. Later that day Cuddles hatched from one of the other 2 eggs, the third egg not hatching.

This is Snuggle and Cuddles (mommy very top left) as we are today, May 22nd, at four weeks old! Quite a change there is in a four week period. It is so awesome to have had the opportunity to watch them grow so far. There is still more growing to do yet!

I knew I could!

I can do it, I can do it! I know I can, I did it yesterday.

One more pull and I will be up! I'm almost there! I made it! Whew!

Feeding

I did it too!

I did it too! Today it was my (Cuddles) turn to get up onto the perch all by myself this morning. And later this afternoon I even got part way up the side of the cage! So much to learn!

I did it!

I did it! I did it! I really did it! I got onto the perch a few times today for the first time! Even sat for a few minutes on the perch!

As I sat there on the perch, Cuddles wings started to flap! So many things happening all at once!

I managed to hang on though! Even managed to work a little with my feathers! Talk about a balancing act!

Playing a game?

Finding a place to hide. You have to count to 100 and then come and find me!

I found a place. I'm sure no one will be able to find me here peeking out from under Cuddles would they?

Eating and relaxing

Oh yes, there they are! Both Cuddles and Snuggles finding seeds here under the perch. Having to duck to get at them though. We are learning quickly so that we don't bump our heads! One of us is almost sleeping already!

And then it happened! Sleep over came Cuddles and the spot to relax was right there and with one wing over the perch for fun at the moment.

Thoughts!

Could it be that 'cuddles' would be a good name for me (the yellow baby bird). We lean on each other when we take our naps like in this picture just below.
Here I am ready and waiting to be fed by mommy.

Snuggles

When we settle down to sleep at whatever time of the day it is, we snuggle up to each other. Usually it is me, the bluer one, that snuggles my way in and lays my head on top of the other bird.

Here again I, the bluer one, snuggled in to lean against the other bird! It is so comfy that way! I think I have been given a name! Snuggles!

Feathers

As you can see our feathers are coming in quite nicely! It won't be too long and they will have filled in. My wings and tail have more yellow on them! More like Daddy but not quite as much yellow that I can tell.

And I am darker on the wings but will be more blue or turquiose! Sitting quite content we managed to get our pics taken for everyone to get a better look at us.

Amazing

Three weeks ago tonight I heard soft faint chirping coming from the cage beside me. Amazed at seeing one egg had hatched and to have a 2nd one hatch the following day was awesome! What an opportunity to be given to watch these tiny little babies grow so far! Never would I have thought of the enjoyment there could be in seeing them open their eyes for the first time, standing for the first time, almost loosing their balance as they try to reach those feathers in the back but gaining their composure quickly! They can be quite serious and yet quite comical at the same time! They are learning to eat now on their own but still depend on 'mommy' quite a bit on getting fed and now 'daddy' is feeding them sometimes now too! 'Mommy' is able to do more of her own thing now and not having to constantly be with them. She watches from a perch above them as the babies explore or still sleep a lot yet below. The babies do pretty much everything together, like in the picture they settle down after feedings and play times!

So cute!

We like to snuggle close together and keep each other warm.

Exploring

Peek a boo! Yes, it's me, one of the babies! We had the floor in the cage put up a little and wow! What a difference it made. Now we can see out of the cage better. This is going to be so much fun!

This is so exciting! Come on! Lets go and explore to see what we can find! Look, the perch is closer now! In time we will have to explore that!

Seeds!

Yep! That really is millet and seeds there! I'll have to try some!

We have started to learn to eat a little bit on our own. Mommy still feeds us and Daddy has fed us a little bet too, if Mommy will let him fed us!

Amazing isn't it! In just under three weeks from hatching from our eggs we have grown so much! From depending totally on Mommy (which we still do depend on her) to walking around on our own, starting to get feathers, to beginning to eat on our own!
