Snow Angel

"Hi there!" I am new here as of October 26th of 2009. My name is 'Snow Angel'. I am residing in the same cage as Cuddles and Snuggles so we will be spending lots of time together. And I am the most senior of the group of 5 of us now. We are doing quite well together for knowing each other for just over 2 weeks now.

Growing Babies

Yes, we, Cuddles and Snuggles are still around! Our last entry was some time ago and we have grown!

We had moved into our own cage. Our cage sits right beside our mommy and daddy's so we are still all together!

Did you know

For adult and babies alike millet is a special treat and does not last long when put into our cages! The same thing goes with things like carrots and lettuce and apples.

Could it be a repeat

If this looks familiar as if from last April, well it is a repeat of April. As of tonight there are again 3 eggs that Mommy is sitting on. She has been faithful on sitting on these three since the first one was laid earlier this week. This is what she did in April also. So we shall see!

Orange feathers

We are still here! Adjusting and yet still like being able to fly and sit on mommy and daddy's cage!

Here we are enjoying carrots and when we are finished our feathers around our beaks are orange giving us a different look! Smiling!!

more eggs!

Yes. There has actually been a few more eggs! The egg in the pictures was laid this last Sunday. Another was laid the Tuesday following and then one today. The 2 eggs laid before today the parents got at and are now gone. The one today is still in the cage. Time will tell weather the mother will decide if she is going to sit on the egg or not.

Will there be more babies or is it just eggs to keep us guessing!

Getting wet

When we get bored we try to have a bath in the water dish! Afterwards with our feathers all wet we sit to dry off.

We like to snuggle together on the swing anyways but after playing in the water it tires us out and we fall asleep.

The Four of Us

Yes! The four of us are still here. We are basically the size of the adults but still babies! Now and then we peek out to see what is going on outside the cage!

We spend our time eating to keep up our energy!

And then we play with the toys again and preen our feathers some more!

A time of adjustment

Although we are adjusting to our new place it will take some time yet! (maybe adjusting more so for the one that keeps our cages clean! Smile) Mommy and Daddy fly over from their cage to check up on us!

And we get anxious too to get out to stretch our wings! We wait at the cage door when our owner is near! Smile!

There are moments we need to be comforted in the time of adjusting to be on our own! Good thing there are 2 of us!

Swing

Yes! Both of us, Snuggles and Cuddles are squeezing in on the small swing in the different cage we are in! We made it and kept warm all night. Good thing we have each other!

Testing, testing!

Yep! Making sure they are in there! And they are! It is taking some adjustment for babies and mommy and daddy to be seperated from each other!

Preening

That feels good to get a little help preening my feathers that are hard to get at!

Resting on top of the cage for a little while after it was cleaned! Flying around for a little while as your home is being cleaned can be tiring! Daddy was resting inside the cage.

Yes, this is Cuddles and still likes to cuddle at times.

Cuddles sleeping my hand for about 10 minutes. At six weeks old they are looking very much like adults but still and still feeling secure snuggling!

Have to check this swivel mirror out! Looks interesting! A mirror on both sides!

Waking up!

Good Morning! It is morning right? May we get up yet?
Some of us are already awake and keeping nice and quiet so the others can sleep!

One by one each one wakes up slowly to a bright sunny morning!

Still some growing

Although we, Snuggles and Cuddles are looking very much like Mommy and Daddy we are still babies as you can see in the size difference in this picture. Still some growing to do!

Swing

Here we are sharing the swing! (Cuddles on the left and Snuggles on the right) We are still small enough that we can share it and sleep for a nap or even part of a night. We are just over 5 weeks and we know almost everything we need to know. Amazing, isn't it! From hatching from a jelly bean size egg to, although not fully grown yet, but being able to fly.

Mommy and Daddy had to get out of the cage for a break and explore for awhile!

Twins?

Twins? Almost!

For some reason I still have that cartoon parrot look even at 5 weeks old! Wasn't I supposed to grow out of that already by now?

Family

Although we have filled in and look like full grown birds we really are not fully grown yet and are still growing!

We spend our days sitting with one of the family and watching the others.
Or preening our own feathers or one of the others.

At some point in the day all four of us end up on one perch for a little while.
